Our journey with Willow and Josh started back in August 2022 when the venue was nowhere near complete and required a lot of vision to see the potential. They had enquired with us and we had eagerly given them a call. We had a lovely chat on the phone and arranged a tour, but we were really feeling the pressure when they told us they would be driving all the way from London just for their tour: what if they didn’t like it after spending all that time travelling!
As we were showing them around we could see that they were gradually getting more and more excited about the venue and to our amazement they totally saw the potential! For Willow and Josh Moat Hall Barns ticked all the boxes as they wanted to have a completely relaxed wedding, with informal dining, informal drinks and filled with their personalities. They did not want to be tied to any suppliers or rules that prevented them for personalising every aspect of their day. They wanted to fill a space with decorations and pieces that represented them as a couple. Willow had a Grandfather with an antique business and she already had her eye on wonderful, unique items she was going to use on their day.
As for their wedding day, well we will let the photographs do the talking but it was an amazing day filled with colour, fun and sentiment, with the ceremony being performed by a close friend. Their photographer, David Boynton has an eye for quirky, rustic charm that is a match made in heaven for Moat Hall Barns.
Our favourite memory of the day: There were so many great things about this day but we were very humbled as their friends and family had come from all over the world and were making memories at our little farm wedding venue.
It’s a true credit to any supplier who was involved in this wedding as Willow and Josh had a tall criteria to meet. Not only did they need to fit with the vibe and be offering a fantastic service, they also needed to be sustainable and click with Willow and Josh as a couple.
The view, the grounds and the barn are all beautiful.
We chose to have our ceremony outdoors and our wedding breakfast in the barn, to finish the day we had a tipi on the paddock.
Everything was amazing and we could really put our stamp on the venue with it being DIY, which was super important to us.
I can’t recommend Moat Hall Barns more, thank you so much again!
